A BIT ABOUT ME

A Registered Dietitian for over 25 years, I work with both adults and children. Believing in balance and moderation, my goal is to help you incorporate your nutritional goals within an everyday lifestyle that can work within the constraints of family, school, and work.

I believe in an intuitive eating approach and that avoiding food groups and deprivation are unnecessary to achieve an over all healthy lifestyle. My goal is to help you improve your nutrition and overall health within your comfort zone and lifestyle constraints. Each person has unique needs and goals and helping individuals achieve these is my priority.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition from San Diego State University and my Master's degree in Nutrition Science from University of California, Los Angeles. My dietetic internship was completed at the West Los Angeles Veteran's Affair Medical Center.

After several years of working as a clinical dietitian at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, I moved to Virginia and focused on Diabetes Education I took the opportunity to fill a role with the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy's (formerly National Academy of Science) to work on several public policy studies and forums in topics such as Medical Nutrition Therapy for Medicare Recipients, Food Labeling, Dietary Risk Assessment in the WIC Program, and Nutrigenomics.

Having resumed patient counseling and education, my specialty areas are in diabetes/pre-diabetes counseling and education, cardiovascular nutrition, sports nutrition and weight management for both adults and pediatrics.
